From single company to corporate group
In April 1993, Dr Jürgen Grossmann acquired erstwhile Klöckner Edelstahl GmbH in Georgsmarienhütte, near Osnabrück, and from it created an independent, medium-size state-of-the-art steel maker.
Georgsmarienhütte GmbH is the heart of the Georgsmarienhütte group of companies. The company offers its customers the flexibility, quality and service reliability they need by having its own supply of raw materials, producing the steel in a modern electric melt shop, and processing it in its downstream rolling mill.
Our origins and our corporate activities lie mainly in the making and processing of steel. We meanwhile work with iron, steel and aluminium, from the raw material to the finished product, at the various locations of the Georgsmarienhütte group of companies.
